Risk division sites migration

I offered to 'help out' and 'keep things moving' while a colleague was on leave. I was to continue with the project manager role for the migration of the four sites, keeping tabs on all the outstanding tasks and managing the issues that came up.

This involved among other things:

  • arranging and attending weekly meetings with the project team to report progress
  • reporting back to other project managers and development partners
  • supplying page and component mockups and functional specifications to our developers in India
  • keeping up-to-date with the numerous project tasks

I had never had this level of involvement before in my professional career and it certainly opened my eyes to the amount of work involved.

The sites went live during Q3 and Q4 of 2009.
