Dickensian Christmas Festival, Rochester, 6th December 2008
We had a day out in Rochester and journeyed back to a time which was alive with the life and works of Charles Dickens. Street entertainment, readings, song and dance filled the streets that the author explored, as a child and in his later years.
We took in the sights and sounds that both inspired and troubled Dickens and enjoyed the songs from Oliver, a visit to the Six Poor Travellers House, a carol concert in the magnificent cathedral and ended with a candlelit parade.
